One of our Team Barnabas members has felt drawn to intercede for priests by offering five petitions.

The number lends itself to the five decades of the Rosary or the Divine Mercy Chaplet, with each petition associated with one decade.

Although these petitions are phrased with priests in mind, they can be tailored to fit anyone we want to lift up to the Lord:

• Give them to drink deeply of Your Wisdom, that they may savor the richness and beauty of the faith.
• Renew their hope, that they may practice abandonment to Divine Providence.
• Fill them with the consolation of Your Love, that they may know how specially chosen and beloved they are.
• Strengthen them with Your gift of fortitude, that they may proclaim the Gospel with apostolic zeal and holy boldness.
• Cover them in Your Precious Blood, as with a shield, to protect them from the enemy, and may Our Lady’s mantle keep them safe from all harm.

These are various ways to express the fundamental prayer: May they continue to grow in holiness!
