The Sacred Heart and the Priesthood, by Ven. Mother Louise Margaret Claret de la Touche
As a Visitation sister, Mother Louise Margaret (d. 1915) belonged to the same religious order as St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, who received revelations about the Sacred Heart devotion in the 1670s.
Just after the turn of the 20th century, Mother Louise Margaret received communications from the Lord, this time expressly appealing to His priests. Under obedience, she distilled them into The Sacred Heart and the Priesthood.
Infinite Love pouring itself forth from the divine Being created man; this same love, issuing from the Heart of Jesus, has created the priest; and just as man can find his true life and perfection only by returning to God, his eternal principle, so it is only by going to the Heart of Jesus that the priest can attain to the plenitude of life and the perfection of his sacerdotal being.
That is the reason why, at this hour when the holy functions of the priesthood are so necessary to the world, Jesus calls His priests to His Heart. It is in order that they may draw new graces from this divine source, and by immersing themselves again in this ocean from which they have come forth, they may find a renewal and an increase of sacerdotal life.

So powerful is this love! I had not read about Sister before!
Question? The Novena for the Holy Face starts Sunday, February 8 to end the day before the Feast on Feb 17 correct? Or on Feast… some people pray to end on Feast… what is proper? Keep holding hands with Barnabus and encourage priest through prayer.

Thanks, Debbie – The Sacred Heart and the Priesthood is a compelling book, with much material for reflection!
Regarding the Holy Face novena, the best sources I’ve seen are all about starting on Feb. 8 to conclude on Feb. 16, the day prior to the feast. That timing must be based on the Lord’s reported words about praying the novena to precede the feast day itself.
